Notes for Contributors to KCResearch
KCResearch welcomes qualitative or quantitative research submissions related to the Kansas City area across all subject areas.
Scope
Research should apply to issues, citizens, initiatives, or populations of the Greater Bi-State Kansas City region. Submissions should take the form of original research, based on the collection of data according to a clearly evident methodology.
Because of the breadth of the project, we do not require that documents undergo a formal peer review process prior to submission, though each document is approved by KCResearch staff. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Neighborhood and transportation plans
- Government audits
- Population/statistical profiles
- Data-driven mapping projects
- Program evaluations
- Regionally-based surveys
- Empirical studies
Formatting
KCResearch does not require any particular format or file type for submissions.
Dates of coverage
KCResearch hosts research documents from all time periods. Indeed we encourage the submission of older research documents, particularly those that are not currently available in electronic form. We can digitize hard copies and make them accessible in the database. Please contact us if you would like to explore this possibility.
Submitting
Please include the contact information for all authors and copyright holders of the document with your submission. If you use the online form, you will be prompted for this information.
Authors may submit documents in one of three ways:
- Submit Online. Note: You will need to set up a login to access the submission form.
- Send an email attachment to kcresearch@kclibrary.org.
- Mail to:
